Walter Pancheri, woodcarver and artist

Born in 1962. He lives and works in Ortisei, Val Gardena.
Until 1982 apprenticeship with woodcarver Vinzenz Mussner. 1983: studies at the art school in Graz (A). 1987: master craftsman’s diploma in woodcarving. Until 1994, Walter Pancheri works in the workshop of his father Flavio, a woodcarver himself, where he devotes himself partly to sacred, partly to secular art. In 1994 he sets up his own workshop and has ever since been experimenting with new, contemporary ways of expressing himself through wood, also by using photography.
